Treatment:

Most of the time you should be able to treat your hemorrhoids on your own. But there are some situations where your doctor may recommend medications or surgery.

  • Medications:. You can often by an over the counter ointment or cream to help soothe the discomfort associated with hemorrhoids. Also try to take warm baths frequently to help with the discomfort. You may also try using a bidet. Make sure that the bidet has warm water capability.
  • Surgery: If a blood clot forms with an external hemorrhoid, your doctor can remove it easily with a simple incision. For persistant bleeding or extremely painful hemorrhoids please see your doctor.
